About me
Welcome to Dog on the Prairie. My name is Matthew Cox and I am teaching Algebra and Biology at Todd County High School on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota through a program known as Teach for America. I've made this online journal with two purposes in mind:
1. To educate readers regarding the achievement gap that exists in America today and what can be done about it. For general information on this subject, go here.2. To educate readers regarding life on the reservation and my experiences living and working with Native peoples - a people group that often seems to have been written out of the mainstream conscience. This is still a work in progress, so I appreciate your patience as I get all the sections up and running and the kinks ironed out. I'd love to hear your questions and/or suggestions.
